# I got bored...

and when I get bored, I experiment.
I wondered, how few dots could you suggest a
dancing person with, so using Imageready I
made 5 dots representing head, hip, feet and
one hand, and then just moved them frame
by frame. It distracted me for about an hour,
and the result is quite pleasing!

It uses very little memory too.

I could see this working with a randomation.

# works pretty well
but when i saw it, i thought it was two hands rather than a hand and a hip, maybe it would work better that way?

# same here
two hands and hip would be good

very good though

# I didn't want any of the dots to cross, so I only did one hand.
I dunno why really, I just felt it wouldn't work as well.

It was more the sense of weight and mass I wanted to try and get
right, than any sense of correct anatomy.

# It could be taken that way I guess,
but it's not what I had in my mind as I animated it.

# well it was what i thought on seeing it, before reading the text

# hahahaha
if it is a second hand, hes groping his cock rather vigerously.

# Well, certainly a hand on the crotch would make sense
regarding the hand or 'hip' argument!

maybe I'm channeling Michael Jackson?

# heh
maybe you should drawing another cirlce on the green layer, or change it to a triangle or something
(, Sun 2 Sep 2007, 15:05, archived)
# Nah, than I'd have to start angling shapes n such,
I'm happy for it to re-interpreted as a hand...

# ah true
hmm, i wonder if cs3 lets you rotate layers per frame

# It did occur to me
it would prolly be a lot simpler just to rotoscope them onto an actual person dancing, but unfortunately I've never yet sat down n worked out how to make a movie into a GIF.

One day...

i think you've done a pretty good job replicating the po's dance moves as it is.
