I think maybe that green might have been the worst colour to use.



This is just a gradient, I suppose, but I actually coloured each 5 pixel smaller square as a whole, to try and produce an X effect - I'll feel silly in a minute.

Instead of doing it as an optical illusion (there is no X at all in either of the previous images) I could have just used a Photoshop pre-set gradient and done this:



Not quite the same though, eh?

[EDIT: Actually, seeing them next to each other here, I am quite pleased at how well the illusion works.]
