The government has turned down the petition to have Tony Hart knighted
www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page14377.asp
Therefore I recommend that he be declared a saint, knight of the round table or simply a god.
At the very least he should be interviewed (AGAIN!) by B3ta asap, because lets face it, if he hadn't given us the gallery, then most of us wouldn't be here (on B3ta) today.
Can he at the very least be B3ta's patron saint (of the living variety)

Or wear a square halo instead of a round one. I don't know why I know this.
YES to the interview idea, that's a smashing plan.

I have no idea where I've got it from but I think you can't be a saint while you're alive, but if you've been 'earmarked' to be one you get a square halo.

I'd been sending them to Tony for years. I was fucking outraged he never put them in the gallery.

I agree - also, we should make an image challenge based on Mr. Hart. Why should Bob Ross get all the glory?

paste his head on something with as little effort, thought or humour as possible.

But I don't believe in imaginary bearded sky wizards.
Can he not be made Emperor of Humanity instead?

I remember I sent in a wonderful portrait for him when I was about 4. I see to recollect the is was only improved by the 30 minutes I gave it in the freezer:D

they have stated they will take into account the support of the XXXXXX no. people who signed it when the next year comes around.
Besides, although a grand idea, it was the wrong place to go about suggesting him for an honour. I believe there is somewhere more specific to get it done. Can't think offhand, but it has been linked before.
failing that, there are info. packs and downloadable forms here:
www.direct.gov.uk/en/Gtgl1/GuideToGovernment/Honoursawardsandmedals/DG_067917
Using the same forms, we could also nominate rob for services to decreased productivity
