# sweet jesus, the fail quotient in this post is unnaturally high.

# the fail is strong with this one

I actually quite like it, apart from the fact that the size will rile people

# Maybe not, but many have capped bandwidth.
If something can happily be made smaller with no great loss in quality, it may as well be.
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:21, archived)
# i've never understood the capped bit
forgive my ignorance but are 5x100k gifs any bigger than 1x500k gif, i do understand the dial up bit.

# i think i've worked it out.
i guess you get to see more little gifs and stuff before your connection blows up, making the visit more worthwhile.

more b3ta for your money.
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:31, archived)
# Yep.
Or to put it another way, if you're on b3ta for an hour or two each day, you'll end up using less bandwidth if people stay inside the filesize limits, and be less likely to go over your limit and have to pay.
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:33, archived)
# that's that sorted out
i will have to try and refrain from reposting stuff.
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:38, archived)
# Dont get carried away.
I for one would like you to continue reposting your stuff
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:42, archived)
# Of course
But I think it's safe to assume that if everyone kept within the guidelines bandwitch usage wouldn't be as high.

I see where you are coming from though. George Bush had the same idea to get around the Kyoto agreement.
(, Fri 8 Feb 2008, 16:29, archived)
# I doubt it
but some of us unfortunate souls have a tiny monthly bandwitch allowance.
And some of us have no bloody choice as the bandwitch is restricted by the only telecomms company in the country that provides bandwitch.

A couple of days ago I didn't spend that long on B3ta and noticed that I'd used 49mb in an incredibly short time.

I am starting to use my allowance in a shorter time just by using my PC for normal day to day usage (that includes B3ta).
