# Yeah, because that's totally enforceable.
Just let the government waste tons of money on totally unenforceable pseudolaws that help and hinder nobody. It won't be long before they're voted out so that the Cons can get back in, and that's when it's bye-bye England for my Captainy arse.

I say remove the whole lot of em, they're too busy arguing with each other to run the country
One day they'll notice that when they put the price of petrol up - the price of everything goes up.... plus they should move parliament to the country.... maybe they'd understand how the real world works instead of sitting in the middle of london telling us how the country works.
I can't afford to go back and forth to work if petrol keeps going up :(

# Others have said it too of course
that's just where I heard it first. The ruler of the universe is an old man who lives in a shack and talks to his cat, and speculates whether his cat thinks all these important visitors are coming along to sing songs to it. Then speculates whether they *are* singing songs to his cat and he merely believes they're coming to ask him what to do.

etc etc.

# :D definitely.

# This is true that possibly the only people who could be even vaguely fair and permissive governers are ultimately the people who wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.
People are fickle, if you try to be egalitarian they ask why their tax money is going to some subculture they dislike. A fair ruler would be always be hated.

They may have got London, but if they take over the whole shooting match, I'm outta here.

Actually, I may be anyway, but that's another story.

# I flatly refuse to live under a Conservative government again.
I may not remember very well all that happened last time, but I remember some of it, and also the problems it caused my family.

Not again. Not for me, not for my kids.

If you seriously believe that New Labour and the Tories are different types of beasts then you should probably go and check the bestiary again.

# Or I could possibly continue to have my own opinions.
(, Wed 28 May 2008, 16:42, archived)
# It is a fair point though.
As much as I despise the selfish, unempathetic, money hoarding, pitiless fucking taxi driver kind of cunts who will intentionally shit all over someone else just to get a silver penny, the conservatives are demonised to an extent which isn't really in proportion with how equally fucking selfish the Labour party and almost the entire populus is.

That sexual imagery law was brought in by new labour after all.
(, Wed 28 May 2008, 16:47, archived)
# Of course
Did I ever say anything different? By the same tune, I'm allowed my own opinions, and that's that the people currently in the Labour cabinet are exactly the same as the people who were in Major's last Tory cabinet. Same words, same policies, same lack of action.

That's my opinion. You're well entitled to your own, but you should perhaps quit being so defensive when there's no need.
(, Wed 28 May 2008, 16:49, archived)
# I'd disagree
with you. But then I'd have to explain myself, so I won't.
(, Wed 28 May 2008, 16:53, archived)
# You don't have to explain yourself at all
That's the joy of posting about politics on an arts board. I can survive people having different opinions to me... :)
