I've just signed up with them. 10 meg for £16 a month...dunno if it's any good cos I haven't had it installed yet but seems a good deal on paper.

Perhaps you should move to Sheffield.

# i do like sheffield, i wouldn't call it the best place in the country
i love the sandwich shops, the curmudgeonly locals and the botanical gardens but, god help me, i hate students.
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:28, archived)
# But there are students everywhere!!
*Carmudgeons*
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:35, archived)
# well sheff has one of the highest students to locals ratios of any major city
i'm just too old and grumpy i guess, i find the "Let's go out and let's get bloody drunk eh lads?" mindset a little tedious.

one of sheffield's best features is Belly Busters and its kin. that should be the main slogan of the tourist board "sheffield - We have bigger sandwiches than you!"
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:44, archived)
# I dont understand why you came here if you are so bitter about it
Edit: and London is wank
Ive lived in the country and theres nothing to do gets really boring

# Oevr priced shitty pubs that reside in the middle of nowhere
I doubt theres any profit there
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:42, archived)
# aye they're more expensive but that joust keeps the yobs out
what could be nicer than sitting in a country pub with your mates with out dick head fucking students collapsing around your feet?
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 20:06, archived)
# It's lovely here now you've all gone.
I don't mind the students much myself really, unless they're really annoying eager first years.
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:26, archived)
# i can imagine.
being able to go into a pub with out some desperate homunculus and his mates dressed in togas standing by your table shouting about all the girls they'll never have sex with?

priceless

# They must've been locals!!
Hardest place to pull is Sheffield...or was that just me?

# i love london, its my favourite city in the world
i've been to a fair few of the world's great cities too and nowhere has the same wonderful vibe that london does. where else can you find a wonderful classically educated busker who resides under blackfriars bridge reciting his poems in shakespearean enuciation. give me london over anywhere.
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:32, archived)
# It is nice to visit.
I think I'd go insane if I had to live there and deal with the congestion getting to and from work every day.

# virgin are shit, they treated me really badly last year.
we were only getting something like 2mb/s off a 8mb
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:20, archived)
# They were ok for me last year
and apparently, 'cos of this fibre optics thingamy it doesn't matter about the distance from the exchange and suchlike.

I dunno, proof'll be in the pudding and all that.
(, Mon 30 Jun 2008, 19:22, archived)
# i've only ever had virgin
no complaints although my 2mb does drop to 1mb of an evening, apparently our bit of copper string is full up.
still can't complain as i only pay the £9.99 a month for the first year introductory offer i took up 2 years ago, every time it's up for review i tell them i'm changing to tiscali and they wave their magic wand. 2mb unlimited is quite quick enough for me ta.
