# Hahahaha fuck, I was just about to go to bed.
Now I'll never be able to sleep

# Hahah
hit Escape a few times.

# Haha, he looks so cute.
I needed something like this to brighten me up, I've had a shitty day and you get a high five.

# *fives*
MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE A PUFFERFISH PICTURE
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:22, archived)
# I would, but that's the problem.
My fucking macbook hard drive died. about 1 week out of warranty, and only a few weeks before I had the money to buy a portable drive and do a big backup. I'm not happy, and can't draw anything now.

But I had already done one, so it's all good.

# Oh man. That's fucking appalling.
I think I'll do a backup/cleanse tomorrow
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:26, archived)
# Do you know what is physically wrong with the drive?
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:27, archived)
# I believe the technical term is it's "fucked in the eye"
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:29, archived)
# Well my harddrive was completely fucked and made a horrible whirring grindey sound if you tried to fire it up.
I basically took it out and smacked it repeatedly with my palm a few times, this somehow knocked whatever loose part was causing it not to spin properly and it lasted another three months before melting down again.

Also you can probably recover the data depending on what the issue is.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:31, archived)
# I think it's properly dead.
Although I'd rather take another whack at it than let my Dad and his half arsed manner be the final say.

He doesn't have any HFS+ recovery stuff as far as I'm aware, and I'm not willing to pay for a program that might not even work, so I'm happy to leave it as a lost cause if I can't sort it soon. I've got a new drive on the way that's double the size, but it's just fucking inconvenient.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:34, archived)
# Places can just recover the data by physically taking the palattes out and reading them.
I have no idea how much it costs though.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:37, archived)
# Apparently it costs thousands to get it done professionally.
My brother does a lot of recovery stuff, but with NTFS rather than HFS+, so I might need to wet his beak a bit.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:40, archived)
# Alternatively you can purchase the exact same harddrive off ebay, presuming its an older one.
Take the palattes out of old harddrive with data on, swap with new blank harddrive.

Of course this is sort of dependent on how easy harddrives are to take apart, and they aren't. Stupid magnets.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:44, archived)
# Awwwwwwwwwwwwww
About the HD, I sympathize. You may be able to recover it yourself though, there are loads more utilities available for mac/unix users than windoze users.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:30, archived)
# Tried, failed.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:31, archived)
# Well then
if you can't find an ubergeek to deal with it you may have to bite the bullet and pay to have it recovered like I did. AT LEAST THEN YOU CAN SAY YOUR PICTURES HAVE A MONETARY VALUE.
(, Mon 4 Aug 2008, 2:40, archived)
# I've got an ubergeek family, and none of them can sort it.
I'm not pleased, as it's 160gb and a years worth of data.

However, upon reflection it's basically just music and PSDs of cats.

I've got all of my pictures hosted on my site, so I could go on a mass downloading spree to get the backup

# I find the best way to ruin the shitness of a shit day is to find either some new comedy or something you haven't seen in ages.

Or to strike someone down with imaginable vengeance such which shake the very core of their being and leaves them weeping to the bones.

# Haha oh god.
I'm just gonna whack both series of Big Train on random and hit the hay. I've gotta be up in a few hours to have my teeth scraped and all that.

HELLOOOO PHOBIA.

# You should download this film instead....
