...I need to get my hands on the raw footage first and check the sound quality is OK - then I'll try and chop it up into downloadable chunks.

Never worked with video before, so it may take me some time :)

you'll probably need to either turn it into Real video (.ram, .rm), although it is evil, or squash it using the DivX codec, keeping the filesize down but the quality still OK.
