wireless is a boon, blueray is great, and now it has great proprietary games -- metal gear solid and LBP are two of the better games I've ever played.

Was the Game Cube the one with Luigis Castle?
I always loved Nintendo most of all because of the game play. They never got overly bogged down in graphics!

I thought it was a bit of a big expense but (aside from when I've leant it to ill friends) I use mine to play on, for DVDs, to play music I stream over my network and I'm hoping to get it to play movies I steal from the interweb.

my Dreamcast was beloved above many other things and some people... and it did online gaming in a way that xBox and PS3 are just NOW equalling - aside from the fact it was so complicated and no one was on...
but - philosophy aside the PS3 is a heavy piece of kit
