If your IQ reaches 80, you should sell.
/sorry, unecessarily harsh there. I'm having a p*sser of a day.
I have no idea about such games, why not go to a dedicated gaming site and read reviews on it

The plot is "Here are some zombies. They want to kill you. Don't let them." so if you're after something a bit deeper this might not be the game for you.
The multiplaying is great. The single player is essentially training really, and I imagine it could get boring, but playing it with some mates or over the internet is lots of fun.
There are only four campaigns, but this weird "AI Director" thing means it will never be the same. Different enemeies, different weapons, different places each time you play it through.
Good fun.

the single player is a practice run for the multiplayer side of things

It's bloody good fun. There's bugger all plot. it's basically a zombie flick that you get to play through. Even the first level loading screen is a poster for the movie you're in.
As zeltergiset said, it's all about the multiplayer really. First you play the Survivors, which can be a very intense experience, then you get to play as the special Infected, which is a great way of letting off steam (and indulging your sadistic side). There are only 2 maps for Versus Multiplayer at the mo (Only one of which ever seems to be played), but I expect more will be added as time goes by. There are 4 maps for co-op, but that's just you and 3 others against the AI, and not as much fun.
It's one of those games you'll either keep coming back to, or play twice then abandon.
