# Valentines
In these bleak days of credit crunch I have decided to be a cheap bastard and make the valentines present this year. So I Made a rose out of old copper pipes.

Anybody else made anything for their special ones this year?

Thank you to everyone for the nice comments :)

# How did you do this?

# I watched
this video and tried to copy it, making a few changes. I cut the cooper pipe in half so it folded flat.

# that's fab

# I laminated a picture of Jim and one of myself
I then put three holes in each and attached wires, which I then connected with what I call a chocolate block connector.

Then I made a hook from some 10mm cable.

I prefer your pipes - pray tell your methods.

# I cut the pipes into 8 various lengths (ranging from 1" to 4")
then heated those bits until they glowed red and threw them in a bucket of water (I was using really old pipes that were very brittle if I tried to bend them, heating them made them more flexible).
Then I cut the pipes down the middle to unfold them and make them flat. I then cut these into hourglass figures (8's)and started to hammer the outside edge with a chisel to make little groves (texture on the petal). Next I drilled a hole in the middle and reheated each petal as before. I assembled them all onto a it of electrical wire and soldered the bottom on. Finally I started to bend the petals up and curling them back at the top.

Your gift sounds ace, homemade gifts are the best.

Your copper rosebud is lovely. Copper rosebud. Sounds like a euphamism.

# you're thinking of a bumhole aren't you?
a balloon knot
a teatowel holder
the rusty sheriff's badge
chocolate starfish
a sarlacc

# sarlacc hahahha

# Haha
"Here's a copper rosebud for you, can I have your copper rosebud now?"

Mrs Zarkoff would love a poem, but I'm useless at writing them. It would probably end up being about monkeys.

Having said that, mr b3th is going to pay for a new boiler in my flat, so he is just as lovely.

I now have to go and make something nice for him. Buggrit.
