I find that
if you cross your eyes so a third image is created in the middle. This will be blurry, then slowly move toward the screen eventually the result will become clear and will be much better the the moving gif.

Just go cross-eyed till you see a blurry vision of 3 signposts
Look at the "centre" one and wait - your eyes should slowly come into focus (can take a fair few seconds).
