It melted a guy's face.

It's fucking brilliant.

# The joke is "this is what would happen if you could divide by zero"
Anything divided by zero is undefined. Think about it. Six divided by three is two. That is because three goes into six two times. 5 times zero is zero. Something multiplied by zero is always zero. Now take four and divide it by zero. No matter what you multiply zero by, the answer is zero. Since you can never make it so zero multipied by something is four, four divided by zero is undefined.

# Exactly.
I thought it was wonderful.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 16:35, archived)
# Could you also explain it as 4 divided by zero is
not divided.

Tsk. Fucking pointless mathematicians and their pointless pointlessness.

12 (or any number) divided by zero equals infiity.

Discuss.

# 12 devided by 0
becomes the number 12

in the same sense that x/0 = x

# I desagree
12/0.5=24
12/0.1=120
12/0.001=12000
etc.

# you're deviding by fractions of 1 and not zero
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 16:48, archived)
# obviously,
but by moving closer to zero and the result increases the result of dividing by zero must be high than deviding by 0.n

# Dissquee
12 people divided into 0 teams, means there are 0 teams.

Unless you then claim 12 is 100%, then 12 people divided into 0 teams = 1 team.

So 12 / 0 = 1

If you split it into 1's & 0's, you can make 12:
1100

# Hmm
If you had 12 maltesers to share between 0 people, then I'm pretty sure you wouldnt have infinite maltesers all of a sudd.... wait a minute THATS HOW THEY ARE MADE!!

# Then why are they not all identical?

Well, clearly they manipulate them in some way in a bold attempt to hide whats really going on.
