Also: TJ for Sea Tramp:

Tomorrow, I am resigning, at the first company away day. We've not been paid since February, told a million and one different things about what's going on, we're all completely flat broke, and expected to not only keep working, but gather in central London for a chat with new bosses about how we can push the company forwards. I have one question and one question only. Where's the fucking money?

I'm going to be doing teacher training in September anyway, so leaving now just gives me time to prepare... but I'd rather not spend the summer taking this shower of toss through the courts to get what I'm owed.

For the record, almost all the staff are doing the same...

Mob justice rules.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:19, archived)
# Shit
Good luck. I hope they capitulate quick smart
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:20, archived)
# They haven't yet... this really is final straw time...
I've had to borrow my wife's maternity pay to cover the upcoming bills.

I am less than impressed, and planning to sue them for constructive dismissal.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:22, archived)
# Will you get that on no win, no fee?
How about a class action?
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:23, archived)
# Can't get it on No Win No Fee as CD is difficult to prove...
It's a principle though. As everyone's joining in, it makes for a much stronger case...
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:25, archived)
# Make sure you deal separately with the two...
Any back pay they already owe you, irrespective of any circumstances around your departure. Small claims for that. constructive is a bugger to stick - you just need to make sure you have documented evidence for everything about your claim. That could roll on and on...
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:27, archived)
# This is why I'm wondering about that one...
As for the back pay, small claims is indeed our friend...

The sods have been doing everything verbally, with almost no writeen contact, but what we have is a start...
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:28, archived)
# Humm...
and by the sounds of things you're as likely to be dealing with administrators rather than the company itself.

Messy. Good luck.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:32, archived)
# We thought that...
then at the last minute, the company taking over bought the staff contracts and the technology...

Thus, under TUPE, they're obliged to pay us our fucking money. Only they haven't.

The phones have been cut off, biggest clients lost, we've had to fend of bailiffs twice.

This meeting tomorrow is going to be ace.

# good luck
don't forget to burn your bridges with hilarious japes and nudity
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:24, archived)

That said...

For the meeting, we all had to submit a photo of ourselves.

(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:32, archived)
# Sounds like you've been more than tolerant tbh...
...and small claims court is your friend - it it's under 5k they're into you for then you can do it through small claims which is waaaaaay simpler than anything else.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:24, archived)
# Don't forget to nick as much as you can physically carry as reparations.

# You should all steal enough stuff from the office to make up the difference*
*I accept no responsibility if you choose to do this
Seriously though, good luck with this.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:27, archived)
# I piss in your mind.
Actually what's the legal position on nicking stuff anyway? Can only certain licence people repossess stuff for money owed, in which case could you just sell your owed wages onto a debtor?
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:30, archived)
# I feel dirty
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:32, archived)

# CDs? Unnecessary expense them...
Licenses... well now that's different... :)

Many thanks for the suggestion mon ami!
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:38, archived)
# I hate tossing bosses like this...
stupid fucks. If they're so incompetent as to be running the company into the ground do the decent thing and either step down or make the staff redundant so they can find other jobs.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:34, archived)
# But if they make us redundant...
they'll have to give us redundancy pay...

If we lose patience and leave, much quicker.
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:39, archived)
# Good luck with that feklla
I thought my place was shit, but at least they pay us.

This year we were told "a pay freeze", but the MD got £3mill bonus... hmmm
(, Wed 29 Apr 2009, 15:41, archived)
# Haven't had a pay rise in three years...
can't afford that kind of thing.

See also: water. Had our water cooler removed last week as it was deemed surplus to requirements.

That sounds highly dubious though... a £3mill bonus....???
