I do my pastel drawings on sandpaper, 600 grit is best, really holds the colour, and gives you so much texture to play with.

Somehow I don't quite think I could replicate the same effect on a graphics tablet, but I'd like to get one to play with anyway. So much arts, not enough times to do all the mediums.
