# :)
see all of this 'Peter Jackson Presents...' stuff. Does that mean he saw it and didn't think it was bad and so he let them pay him to put his name on it, or did he have some input into the making of the film?
(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:25, archived)
# dunno.

# So are you back for good or is this just a brief sojourn?
(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:28, archived)
# I'm back in the real world but I start being one of them student on Monday
so I'll probably be on less that I was, but on sometimes. Hopefully. Depends how naturally clever I am and how much I have to work... so I'll probably never be back again.

# What are you reading? *
*gets all Jeremy Paxman on your arse*

hence teaching myself A Level Chemistry all day

oooh Jeremy - you know your way around an arse!

Good stuff. Good luck with it!
(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:35, archived)
# many thanks
I'll need it. Although I was pleased by the fact that I've learned more chemistry in two days than in my whole life before those two days - I can now talk semi-knowledgably about Angstrom, Van Der Waals force... thingy's constant...

probably if you're just starting medicine, but this is essential reading in my opinion:

# ooooh - thanks
yeah - my graps of Chemistry is poor, so when we started doing things like pharmacology in 6 months time I didn't want to be looking at things for the first time - hence run over it now while I have a bit of 'free' time

I'll download that book and look over it. Cheers.

# pharmacology
is a right pain...the book is about clinical trials and what good evidence for something working is. the Lind library is a good resource too.
I'm not a medic (PhD in Microbiology) but I work around medical data and with a lot of MDs, so if you get horribly stuck with anything feel free to gaz me and I may be able to help. i'm usually lurking instead of working!
(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:50, archived)
# :D
thanks - I'll make a horrible imposition of myself in the future I'm sure... but I'm good for drinks if I ever turn up at a bash

:)

(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:33, archived)

but then I'm not a huge Tarantino fan and found IB to be overlong and not very interesting!
(, Tue 29 Sep 2009, 17:39, archived)
# I'm going to go against protheses

He was going to produce the Halo film with Blomkamp at the helm, then funded and arranged D9 when the former went tits up.

and said "Here's a couple of million bucks - make me the best movie you can" I think the result was well worth his investment.
