I've tried most
And the Vive is far and away the best - as you'd expect for something that expensive.
The Playstation version is more than adequate, especially given how much cheaper it is. I certainly prefer it to the DK versions of the Rift (I haven't tried the consumer version).
Things get very shit when you're down at the "slot a smartphone into it" end of the market though.
Of all of them, the one I can see the most use for outside of gaming is Hololens, but that's fundamentally a different concept.

I was looking into the Vive Pro

The release version of the Rift outperforms the Vive
In all ways except free moment where the vive has no real competition. fov and resolutions are identical.

Free movement was the killer though
Being able to get up and walk around the room and still be immersed was deeply impressive.

The best thing about computer games
is that you can play them sitting on your arse for hours on end.
Why ruin that with exercise?

Also, who has the room to get up and walk around without tripping over a pile of DVDs or treading on LEGO?
It's like those fucking Wii adverts where everyone has an 8-seater sofa and a lounge big enough for Scottie to turn into a pair of Humpback Whale tanks.

For me and the size of my flat it's simply a non-starter. I can get about a 3mx3m square area for flailing about. The Vive's USP requires you to own your own warehouse.
