Spatula City
Mrs Varmint (who is American) and I got into a bit of a debate about what you call a Fish Slice (correct UK word) aka a Spatula (silly American word for a Fish Slice). It's now got out all out of hand on Facebook with ex-pats from both sides arguing quite passionately about which is right (It's Fish Slice BTW).
Any road up, someone linked to this. Looks like it was last on /links ten years ago, so for the younger generation, here's Spatula City!

Nah. The Americans went down the whole 'seeing eye dog' route with this one.
They call it a 'flat headed food picker upper'.

Fish Slice?? Oh, really?
Spatula derives from the Latin "spatha", meaning broad sword, and has been in use since at least the early 16th c. "Fish Slice" got made up about 15 years ago to sell Brits shit they couldn't figure out how to use since it's not used to slice, and it's not used for fish (It's for burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, idiots!). Go Boris!!
