This is a link post Larf Action I made this!
...
More niche name-punning nonsense for 80s kids and speed-readers...

Pulled out all the stops on this one, as it will probably be my only full-length one for a while. (I'll try to keep the shorts going though - although maybe not weekly.) I *know* it would have got more hits if I'd have done "Don't You Want Me", but I always considered this the best single from "Dare", so there.

Enjoy.

...Don't listen with wireless earbuds or those microseconds of latency will likely screw up the timing.

This is a normal post In Android (at least),
Most video apps (including youtube) automatically compensate for the latency by delaying the video feed by the same value.

This is a normal post I've still had issues...
... It's off by just a nanotad, which is enough to make it jar gratingly on the brain.

This is a normal post I suspect that this is either due to an A/V sync issue with the encoding of the video, or a hardware/software issue with your particular earbuds, then.
My Galaxy Buds, Sennheiser Momentum 3 and Echo (the only devices I ever regularly use BT audio on) all have absolutely zero audible sync issues with my Galaxy Note 10 once the latency compensation kicks in. My Samsung TV has built in compensation which is also as effective.
I've also got a Sennheiser BT-T100 which I use for APTX-LL when connected to the Bass amp. That obviously doesn't provide any compensation and there is a delay of ~10ms, but even that is imperceptible unless you're also monitoring the live signal from the amp at the same time.

This is a normal post I hereby award you the "nerd of the week" trophy.
I must also +1 on the Momentum 3's and add in my Google Pixel Pro buds as having no issues. My other headphones are wired so don't count (Good old HD25 Mk 2's)

... but personally I always insist on* cheap Chinese tat-tech that breaks down after three months and is probably hacking into my home network. :)

This is a normal post 20ms audio delay is usually the limit for TV decoders
But it can only be delay - your brain is OK with sound arriving a bit after the video, but if the audio gets ahead of video it's much more noticeable.

This is a normal post I reckon that most folk wouldn't notice 20ms unless they were really, reallylooking out for it, so that seems reasonable.
Somebody visibly knocking on a door, firing a gun, etc.
20ms of delay is the equivalent being just under 7 metres from the source of a sound - barely perceptible in almost every circumstance.
My folks have a lower midrange LG TV from a few years back that is absolutely abysmal with external audio peripherals. Anything connected via Optical/ARC gets ~100ms of delay. I let them borrow my Sonos kit while I was between homes and they were both completely oblivious to the sync issues.
I have a background in audio engineering, so I suspect that I'm far more sensitive than average to this sort of stuff, but I just couldn't deal with it.

This is a normal post Lovely as always.
You could probably turn this format into an enjoyable quiz.

With the music it's perfect, but I imagine it's quite tricky to work out the song from just the names.

Do ten choruses, and see if people can guess the song from the names. If they give up, play the tune for an "of course!" moment.
