I was just reading today about frontal lobe deficiencies, cited as a cause of rigidity and lack of critical thinking in fundies.

It would be nice to think of it as just a problem for anti-vaxxers
But low vaccine uptake results in a failure of herd immunity and a much higher infection rate. If vaccines guaranteed protection that would be fine, but they don't. It also seems reasonable to assume that higher infection rates would result in higher mutation rates and faster evolution of vaccine-resistant strains.

Well,it's hardly the kids' fault if they have thick parents,
and you don't get the vaccine for a year, so no kids are safe unless there's a good take-up rate.

I'd forgotten about the delay in giving it.
I'm pretty sure I was one of the kids who didn't get it, subsequently getting measles and rubella.
