I've watched the first two.
Unfunny crap trying too hard to be lolrandom. It's not making me want to watch any further. The voices are annoying too. If I'd waited 5 weeks for the work of a professional cartoonist I'd reject them too.
What's so great about them? I don't get it.

The cartoons were never commissioned,
hence they are intentionally awful. The second half of the film is what makes it so great, IMO.

Its tale about a spiral
into insanity and depression due to his work not being taken up.
Its not trying too hard. It also predates a lot of lolrandom stuff.

it's really what's going on underneath the surface which makes this so good
a man who's gradually losing his mind through the medium of his work. Seeing as his work is getting more and more distant from the target audience. Plus it's a comment on the atrocity of advertisment.
It got nominated for an Oscar, and rightfully so.
