Same here!
If you like this video, there are HOURS of stories like this on his Evening With... DVDs. He's arguably a much better story teller than he is film-maker. His Bruce Willis story from his time on Die Hard 4 in particular is outstanding.

Same Kevin Smith, slightly different story.
Short version - Despite fitting in a single seat and being able to buckle his seat-belt, he was thrown off a flight because the flight had over-booked and they needed to chuck someone off. Because he's a big guy, he was selected to be the one to go.

You're right, his voice has changed over the years...
Obviously some of this is just natural ageing, but I think a lot of it is just his growing confidence of public speaking.
