Just about to say the same thing about Svankmajer.
Completely reminiscent of his work in look and feel in the best possible ways.

Definitely check out his work, he's a surrealist animator specialising in stop-motion.
His most familiar work is probably Dimensions of Dialogue. Part 1 here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdfCOCIv_DU
He also made a version of Alice in Wonderland which I must admit I'm not a fan of.
If you get a taste for him, a great boxset by BFI was put out about three or four years ago which is well worth picking up.
