There are a few lines but probably cause by some wind or dust storms perhaps?

need to wave your hands around a bit more when you do that.
*pfft every one knows that*

could be a kind of pareidolia though, but it does resemble a footprint
EDIT: Piss

not dismissing what you found, just saying it could be a trick. I can see a snowman, mickey mouse shouting out of a megaphone and a sperm. Doesn't mean their there though...

but this leaps out to me as being a boot print with out having to squint or turn my head around three times.
i do unerstand that this could be , and most probably be passed of as marsh gas with the light of venus shining through at just the right angle to confuse.
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:45, Reply)

There is someone near me who has one though. He usually parades the field after the fair has been to collect the tonnes of loose change thrown from cidered up chavs on rides like "the shaker" and "the orbiter"

sunk in to the ground, never to be seen again.
there will be the soft muted hum of rick astly from under gorund for years to come
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:24, Reply)

Still can't see what you're seeing there. Just looks like a load of dirt to me...

Maybe, if I squint and turn my head sideways, I might, possibly be able to discern the faintest possibility of the suggestion of the outline of a footprint.
Or maybe it's just the highly-evolved pattern recognition ability of the human brain trying to find order in the chaos...
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:07, Reply)

But the pattern seems to repeat randomly all over the whole image, might be some weirdness caused by the way it's been digitised or coded or something, hard to tell, really.
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:26, Reply)

i wasnt even lookng for any thing just viewing the image when i saw this.
i think that you may be refering to the edges that are stitched together to creat the whole image, these are clearly visible and not to be confused with the high lighted section. also i didnt kneed to change any settings on my display to view this .
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:32, Reply)

it does indeed look like a faint shoe print. but i think if it were actually a shoe print, it would be a deeper impression... wouldn't it?
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:36, Reply)

or was it that you didnt want to ruin your stilleto's?
there was so muh going on that even i nearrly missed my own ball kicking. what a great day it was , with candy floss a mass balloon release and cold compresses.
are we still on for the tit punching? i am looking forward to this up coming even, but would like to know what enetertainment you will be laying on and what if any refreshments will be available. will they be subsidised?

haha

tried the other optional links in the preview but didnt work
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:11, Reply)

but I don't think it's a real boot print. In the thousands of miles of Martian land you spot something that vaguely (really vaguely) resembles a boot print. Some sort of pareidolia. (pedeidolia? lol greek joke)
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:46, Reply)

*burps*
oh .. erm , sorry , not that sort of scoff?
in all likelihood,it will turn out to be some thing simple and easily explained , but and this will oodle your noodle, what if it is real? or like in capricorn one the whole thing is faked?
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 21:52, Reply)

So those tracks on the left are less than 25cm.
tl;dr: FUCKING SMALL BOOT!
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:32, Reply)

But on a side note I would like to know if I can get a nice podiatrist in Cydonia, taking these large steps over rovers is causing some severe foot pain.
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:35, Reply)

a screen shot of something that's just a rehash of something that NASA made...
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:39, Reply)

but i most cases wouldnt actualy be there because that would be wrong and every one knows that we havnt been to mars yet, unlike obama who apparently has
( , Sun 8 Jul 2012, 22:46, Reply)

- some numbskulls take this sort of thing seriously, so here's how it isn't really a bootprint.
The wheels of the Opportunity Rover are ten inches wide. Compare the wheel prints to your pic's faint artefact.
Your pic's "boot print" is, by a rough estimate, only about half that size in length (a very small shoe), and a very faint impression.
The Rover - adjusting for Martian gravity - weighs about 140lb: around the weight of a slim adult on Earth. It spreads that weight over six wheels, and makes obvious, thick, clear tracks in the dust.
If a person wearing boots stood on the same surface, we'd see a much deeper, more defined, larger impression.
Me, I can't see anything more than a vaguely lozenge-shaped patch of dust among many others in a vast panorama.

with such clear and concise logic at least include some marsh gas or diffraction of light references as well
