This is a normal post I was reading the synopsis thinking "What's this - a new offering from 'SyFy Channel'? "
Then I saw it was a Spielberg.

Wow. Just, wow...

This is a normal post I'll steer well clear of that then
Spielberg is a clumsy hack, second only to James Cameron in his openly manipulative directing.

This is a normal post maybe it's an ironic statement from one robot to another when they discuss why the robots rose in revolt

This is a normal post I have a theory about film rights, can anyone with inside knowledge tell me if this is off base:
Studio execs wanted to make a film about a generic robot apocalypse, because they are unimaginative and timid and want a proven story audiences already know. But if they make one up themselves, they run the risk of being sued by one or more of the many existing rights owners behind the multitude of robot apocalypse stories.

So they find some unknown book nobody's read much (in this case, one not even out yet) and buy the rights, then make whatever film they were going to make anyway.

Plausible?
