Honestly thought she was better than this.

They don't turn they sort of start off that way and don't really talk about all the bad stuff...trouble makers even if there final aim is very laudable. I mean wasn't Mandela a bit of shit back in the day.

There was the "knecklacing" by the ANC, don't know if he was involved but Winnie was.

From what I remember it was what they did if you were suspected of being an informant.
Basically you got your hands cut off, arms tied behind your back with barbed wire, petrol filled tire put around your neck and set on fire.
"With our boxes of matches and our necklaces we shall liberate this country."
Winnie Mandela.

Nasty nasty piece of she was. And her football team didn't do anything less savage
Wasn't just suspected informers but any one who dared say anything against ANC. Or questioned there finances or generally didn't play along with her/there agenda.

Very long drawn out court case was dogged with all sorts shit
Witness intimidation bribes to corrupt officials etc etc
All in the name of South Africans unity and justice.
Nelson Mandelas release scuppered her plans and was the one thing they didn't want. If he was in prison then he would have stayed a powerful rallying call, and they would have carried on doing what they had been doing, but his release bought the spotlight of the world right into the heart of the organisation and people saw it for what it really was

I suppose Asian person turns out to be massive racist shouldn't come as to much of a shock,
but it's still pretty disappointing.
I realise not all Asians are racists, but after living in Asia for a decade, I would say the vast majority are.

I will add to your sweeping generalisation by adding my own anecdote. The most openly racist man I ever met was Indian...he didn't have a good word to say about any fellow Asian.

"any fellow Asian"
Can someone be racist about their own kind?

Um, yeah. Asia is massive...he had an especial dislike for people from China and hated Pakistani Muslims.

Very much so.
In India predjudice about skin darkness Is apparently common as is the use of skin lighteners.

You know how rabid Scots Nationalists hate English people
even though we're all basically the same fucking nation and have been for centuries?
It's merely a case of picking an arbitrary level in the hierarchy of groups-that-people belong to and being a dick to them. Some people in Cornwall hate people from Devon, when to my mind it's all the fucking west country.
