This is a link post Drum battle between Animal and Buddy Rich
Even as a big band leader, Buddy Rich has some chops and still influences people to this day. Pure talent.

I dread to think what childhood would've been like if it weren't for The Muppet Show.

Buddy Rich in the background, Eleanor Powell centre stage (possibly the greatest all round dancer of her time). Skip the first minute if musicals aren't your thing, and 3 mins if you have no soul whatsoever, but check out the last 20 seconds as they build up to the finale and nail it, and check out the look of joy they give each other

This is a normal post Beautiful...
What happened to the world? How did our civilization outgrow this kind of talent and gaiety?

This is a normal post Rock'n'Roll killed it.
But there's still some great talent out there. Things like Stomp and the Blue Man Group are paragons of entertainment and creativity.

I don't know what would have to happen to get the Western world dancing properly again though...

This is a normal post I also recommend
his arrangement of West Side Story. It's a bugger to play (play trumpet in a big band with this chart), but kind of fun...
