Most people thought it was a stunt, but it turns out Eminem was actually really pissed off, stormed out and didn't come back

Those seating plans are known days, if not weeks or even months, in advance.
Even if it was cleared with Eminem it still makes the paid laid down below about homophobia in rap, etc.

He just opened his arms up to allow Bruno to fall into position.
Completely planned, but still funny.

these idiotic rap and r and b stars have half naked women gyrating in their vids on MTV and on stage during gigs/award shows looking like hookers on Sunset Boulevard. They are also so anti gay and so confrontational about being questioned on their sexuality (which given the way they promote what they feel a woman should look and act like in their work surely raises questions over their sexuality or at least humanity). Good old Sacha Baron Cohen for mixing it up a little.

To be fair at one point that was quite a compromising bit of landing on the bloke, but rappers really seem never to evolve from teenagers with a few mundane issues

When you consider the camerawork, it becomes more evident that it's fake. Firstly there is a shot of Eminem looking up as Bruno descends, to set the scene, then there's a camera following Eminem as he walks out. Far too planned to be genuine.

The point is that Eminem's reaction was very likely unplanned. Having a camera to follow him off is very easy, there would have been several placed around the audience to capture reaction shots, etc.

I think it was planned to be over Eminem but like you say, the reaction was unplanned and it wouldn't be hard to get those shots with the armount of cameras covering the celebrity audience.
It did make me giggle the way his entourage just shoved a helpless, dangling Bruno around.

but if I were Eminem, i'm pretty sure i'd have moved out of the way before I had an upsidedown man in my lap.
Unless of course, I was in on it.
