Successful black men on a stage are forced to tolerate a white guy calling them the full fucking whack

I sort of wish it had been Lenny Henry.
Only joking, he would never have been at the BAFTAs.

"...unless they shout 'nigger!'. That's completely unacceptable."

Tarquin: "Let's invite that delightful Tourettes chap"
Jocasta: "Do you think he might call the Sinners cast niggers live on TV tho?"
Tarquin: "He's not a monster!"

Seems reasonable enough to me. Maybe Jamie Foxx should also be apologising for his “nah he meant it” remark. Unlike Davidson he actually meant to say it.

I can totally sympathise with Foxx and Pierce's immediate discomfort at having such a specifically targeted insult yelled at them from the audience, but Foxx's doubling down is typical of his attitude in general. He probably got a bit of a semi at the thought of leveraging the incident in his favour.

Like the insanity defence, I’ve always found a slight irony in how we tolerate people who are really fucked in the head, but condemn those that are just moderately fucked in the head, like thick racists

- Are we meant to laugh at the disabled man's condition, or the black guys being insulted?

I'm laughing at the Beeb trying so desperately to be seen as inclusive that they ended up tying themselves in knots rather than do the obviously right thing.
It's a shit situation to find yourselves in, but if you can find the time to edit out the words "Free Palestine", you can obviously edit this too. That they chose not to is... interesting.

It was a fantastic example of how awkward living with Tourette's can be for sufferers and those unfamiliar with the condition.

was shouted if it was my job to ninja-edit anything offensive out. It's not that clear. Assume it was an oversight rather than a deliberate decision.

He calls out the most offensive thing possible, he told me. He has no filters, his words, just says the most offensive thing that comes into his head. If you're bald, he goes for it; I you're fat, goes for it; black; effete; whatever. Unless he likes you. He holds very different political views to me but we get along fine and he has never been "rude" to me.
That's one case. It may not fit all. It is my experience with a very pleasant Iranian kid who I count as a friend.

I had tourettes guy who would get onto my tram. Quite enjoyed it, and the freaked out passengers
but this is a bit like babies. they wail and cry, it's not their fault, you can't hold it against them. But don't bring em to a wedding or a cinema unless you know people are cool with it.
