Right, all of this cat hatred needs to stop.
Cats are nice, dogs are nice.
I reckon having a pussycat is like having a mate who's not too needy but loves you nonetheless. Anyone who thinks that cats are unfriendly, cold or distant - they probably just don't like you.
Dogs are also awesome, though they're more like having a toddler or friend with learning difficulties who stares and dribbles and can't really do anything without your help.... but nevertheless is constantly amusing and loving.
Different strokes for different folks.
