This is a normal post make sure you get a guide book or someone who knows the what the score is
Went there a few years back and hardly anyone speaks english, the road layouts are a nightmare as the street numbering is done by when the buildings were built, so 1 could be on the right, 2 on the right half a mile down the road, and 3 on the left half a mile in the other direction. We had a taxi driver who had to stop another driver to find out where the hotel we wanted to go to was even though we had the address.

Also, make sure you don't try and book into a "love" hotel, and look out for the dodgy manga book stores.

Apart from that amazing place, the shinkansen is pretty cool, you'd hardly know is was knocking up to 160mph. Akihabra is mental with electric toilet seats and all sorts of weird gadgets, and for some weird reason all the food gets covered in dried fish scraping, which writhe about like they're maggots which is a bit off putting.

Boomzilla likes this Jap candy that's like a little drug lab. You mix these different parts, it fizzes, gets hot, cools. You do this extrusion-molding thing and watch it harden. When you eat it, it's just candy, but Boomzilla likes making it.

I could see the outrage if these were introduced over here, as a child chokes to death on these things..
