This is a link post Meet Your Strawman
Now you've watched this,
this link;

may make a little more sense.

Or possibly not, as it is all very complex, intentionally so.

HAPPY STUDYING!

This is a normal post Right: here we go.
0:50 - As I explained yesterday, it's kind of true that there's a difference between biological people and legal persons: the law doesn't recognise personality in a foetus, which is why it can be lawfully killed up to term, although a premature baby can't be, even if the only difference is geography. Let's see how this pans out...
1:25 - Eh? This just makes no sense.
1:40 - Oh, an All-seeing-Eye motif. Quelle surprise And dodgy etymology, too. For the record, and assuming you think the origin of the word important here, "register" comes ultimately from the Latin regestum, which means "list". See, this is what happens when you base your understanding of the law on wishful thinking and a passing glance at a dictionary rather than... erm... any understanding of the law whatsoever. On we go...
2:04 - "Then they can start the process all over again..." Who are "they", precisely? And what're they up to? There's no hint of an answer to these questions yet. I wonder if there will be?
2:11 - Oh, it's revenue. For whom, and why, is as yet unexplained. What have taxes ever paid for, eh? I mean, apart from roads, housing, health, schools, basic infrastructure...
2:20 - This is simply nonsense. You have to be a REALLY bad parent before the state'll intervene - and such intervention doesn't seem at all sinister to me. If you're harming your child, the state ought to take it away.
2:27 - Oh, dear. What's implied by the reference to Chatham House rules? Only that the person who made the film doesn't know what the phrase means...
2:35 - Yes. People who take children from abusive households are EXACTLY like the SS.
2:40 - This is gibberish, and makes sense only on the basis of the misunderstanding of legal personality I outlined yesterday and at the head of this post.
2:45 - Eh? "Mr", "Mrs" and "Ms" are simple honorifics. Really.
2:50 - Hahahahahaha! Do people actually believe this stuff?
3:05 - This is simply nonsense.
3:13 - Nonsense that's likely to get gullible fools into trouble.
3:15 - Unadulterated nonsense.
4:02 - Well, that motto has a deeply ironic significance, in the circumstances...

Well, it's quite a well-made little film, I'll grant you. But it's utter balderdash, and treating it as a reliable guide to the law is a bit like treating The Hunting of the Snark as a reliable guide to the fauna of the Serengeti.

This is a normal post Even if this was true
Surely the strawman thing would apply to all contracts, including that little one on bank notes that says "we promise to pay the bearer of this note five pounds", meaning its the strawman that has the money anyway, and any unjust money changing hands between the two (if you insist on enforcing a separation) is entirely on the part of the real person using the money the straw man is entitled to through the contracts which earned it.

This is a normal post I can't be arsed watching the video
Watched a bit of the other one, looked like bullshit to me. But I don't know enough to comment really, just glad theres a clever bloke like you to really.

I find it funny how similar ideologically people into this anti-state stuff are to people like Bush and Cheyney etc. Food for thought.

Anyway when my Socialist revolution comes, they will all be first against the wall.

This is a normal post Thank you
for posting this. There are a whole bunch of issues to do with identity which are big and real and merit more public discussion, and questioning. But stuff like this is just paranoid and badly informed, and worst of all, if you have legitimate worries or questions about the difference between legal and biological people, you risk being aligned with these folk.

Plus I hate hate hate bogus etymology. Understand=Stand Under? So if I overtake someone on the motorway, have I annexed their car? Do undertakers drag people to the centre of the earth? Grrr...

...is this video being ironic or isn't it? I don't know if it is taking the piss out of the pigshit stupid claims made by tearoom lawyers, or promoting them.
