waste of ammo, fuel, time etc. Pollutes the ocean a teensy bit more and they could have flogged the boat to someone for extra drug busting cash

This is a normal post er, because piracy is the only use for a speedboat in that part of the world...
... so they'd be ensuring further attacks. Waterskiing just hasn't caught on in the horn of Africa.

It would be amusing, briefly, to see someone try trawling from it though.

Would be a bit of a problem if they never actually tried live ammo until someone was shooting back.
