Strictly Underground Rave, Wembley, New Years Eve 1994
'On NYE of 1994, Strictly Underground Records and Ravealation hosted a wild rave at Wembley Exhibition Centre in London. The recently resurfaced hour long video not only gives you footage scenes of the classic event, but also interviews with well-known DJs from that timeframe and those in attendance.
For the older crowd it’s a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and for the new school it’s a look into the UK’s classic rave scene. It shows that although much has changed with electronic music shifting into a more mainstream light and much of the underground straying from its roots, the central idea of the party hasn’t lost much of its original spark'
EDIT: Wont embed, its an hour long docu video. Good if you like that sort of thing.

no drug scandals at all, not even once!
i didn't know "jungle" was a form of "house", rather a form of "dance" isn't it? I hate jungle music, totally different from house.

"House"....
.... was shortened from "Warehouse". Back in the late 80's when you went to record shops you asked for Warehouse music, that got shortened to "House". So technically "house" would have covered a shite load of music genres back then........ I know anorak alert! ;)

Watch this as it explains it all... kinda! :)

Unfortunately not
back then my eldest brother had like 20 speakers wired up to his stereo and I suffered from intense migraines, definitely not what I wanted to hear! haha I remember collapsing outside on the grass down the road just to get away from it. :(

Acid house was where it was at.
jungle came a bit later and was more commercial. But the down side was it was moody, not happy and fun like acid house. The dance scene changed after 95. Became much more commercial and that was that. We ended up with Fat Boy Slim (ex-house Martin) as the Don of house, not Man Paris.

Thanks for posting this, brings back memories
Me and a couple of mates were at this rave (can't spot us in the video) and I have to say it was a pretty dodgy affair! We saw someone being beaten up in the toilets which must have been over drugs (no drugs scandals, my arse!) and also at the end of the night at the cloakroom, a girl completely lost her shit and wrecked a couple of coat rails sending loads of coats and belongings all over the place creating absolute mayhem.
I would say that it was probably one of the worst raves I went to.
