This is a link post time-lapse test I made this!
I'm thinking of doing some HD time-lapse landscape shots of some of the scenery around here, so I shot this short test sequence of the pub over the road. It's made up of a sequence of timed shots from a DSLR.

This is a normal post Very cool and well done
Is the pull back done in camera or post?
(, Sat 25 Jul 2009, 20:45, Reply)
This is a normal post thanks
pull back was in post. i'd love to have the equipment to motorise that sort of thing though... especially a track of some sort, for smooth sideways motion. that'd be cool for maybe a populated outdoor sunset.

This is a normal post You want a motorized alt-azimuth mount.
Used for tracking telescopes across the sky, perfect for slow camera work.

This is a normal post thanks for the positive comments guys
it's inspired me to go out and complete the project during August! I'm thinking hills/wandering people/sunsets. Might need a few more exposure tests first, and location scoutage, but watch this space!

edit: popular page, thank you guys, really didn't expect that for a test shot - those proper time-lapse landscapes will certainly be coming soon then...

This is a normal post now doing a zoomed-in sideways scroll as the next test
just worried that the lack of parallax will make it look less natural. probably would be ok for more distant and substantial subjects. maybe a gentle zoom increase would be better for now, just the same thing as this, but opposite.

edit: it's the first time i've done this, and it's really nice to have the freedom of 15mp images to zoom in and pan around. beats using a video camera i should think, at least for post-prod freedom.

This is a normal post canon hackers development kit
only works for canon point and shoot (powershot). Alternative/open firmware that lets you 'unlock' new features. Just google chdk...

This is a normal post ah cooool
reminds me of when i first got a second-hand 300d and the previous owner had already unlocked the 'crippled' features. :) never ended up owning a powershot, but i know lots of people who do, and i shall be passing on this knowledge. thanks!
