This is a question Anonymous

One of the B3ta team danced on stage at the Brixton Academy dressed as an enormous white rabbit, and lived to tell the tale. Confess the stuff – good or bad - you've done anonymously.

Worst anon thing for me methinks
is giving fake advice on an internet forum for epileptics. A few kids on there were talking about wanting to play their favourite games, but were being set off by the strobing effects of their monitors.

So....I...um...left an anonymous post saying how scientists had discovered that the main trigger for seizures is too much information being passed to the visual cortex in the frontal lobe while staring at the fluctuating light source. 1 way to combat this flood of information though is to wear an eye-patch, which limits the amount of visual stimulation thus preventing the cortex from overloading the brain.

After a few excited responces, I went back onto the forum thread later on to see the results. A few kids had replied back with "Didn't work mate, still had a seizure" and one kid asked what I would've expected as a result from getting kids to wear an eye-patch testing this?

My answer was simple; "YARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!"

I never went on that forum again.

Just Stunning!!

As an epileptic myself
I think that's absolute genius. Sadly though it's about on the same level as some of the advice I've had from health professionals - maybe they've just decided to have a bit of fun with it too?

god only knows
I have seen a person nearly choke to death on his tongue from epilepsy. Kinda made me wise up quickly to the pisstaking :) Still, was a classic ruse for the time :D

You my friend are going to Hull!
See you there! Clicky!

*Belly laugh*
Genius! A click for inappropriacy.

As an Epi myself
I can't work out if I want to click this or punch you in the face! If I wasn't a window licker I would probably piss myself laughing, however when I have a seizure I just piss myself. Meh.

hence my reply above
Me and a mate saw a guy have an epileptic fit in front of us and started choking to death. My friend stuck his hand into his mouth to pull his tongue out, while I stopped the poor sod from scraping his head to a pulp on the concrete.

Seriously do feel for you guys :(

It's fine if your medication works
Good on you for helping. I'm really lucky - my meds are great with no side effects - have now been seizure free for 12 months so have just got my driving license back! Woo hoo! Be care sticking your digits in their gob though - you could end up with your finger being bitten off.

That was one concern;
we had to pin his mouth open (which with a seizuring adult male who was built like a brick shithouse it wasn't exactly easy)

You've got to laugh at it, otherwise you'd go mad
glad to hear the med's are working - took me 3 goes to get one that didn't turn me into a zombie, but I'm reasonably stable now (as far as the epilepsy goes anyway). I just - personally - think that you have to have a giggle ... if my son had it I might think a different way.

Hmmm...
When I started reading that, I had a horrible feeling that you were going to be one of those utter, utter cunts that posted large strobing animated GIFs on an epilepsy website. Thankfully not. I'm along the same lines as Battered though - can't decide whether that's funny or horrible.

I'm on daily medication, thankfully that's been under control for years (the seizures weren't the worst thing - it was the lack of driving license that bothered me the most!) but I don't think a lot of people understand how serious it can be.

It's not just a case of "ooh strobe light"/falls over/shudders amusingly for a minute/gets back up and carries on as normal, it can have serious implications for some peoples lives.

Although you do gain some karma points back for helping a seizure victim, and admitting that it was the "worst" thing.

Just
got my license back this week after a year without it. I am a massive petrolhead and losing my license was a real pain as I lived in an area with zero public transport. I had to move house in the end as it was costing so much to use cabs everywhere. However thanks to the wonders of 250mg of Lamotrigine a day I haven't had a grand mal tonic clonic since New Years Day 2009. Wonder how difficult it is going to be getting car insurance though.
(, Thu 14 Jan 2010, 15:52, closed)
That's the dose I'm on as well.
Insurance isn't actually too bad tbh - I can't say for sure but I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to penalise people for medical conditions. I've filled in loads of quotes and stuff and never been rejected for medical reasons.

Don't lie though!

This is devious, clever, cruel, and awfully fucking FUNNY!!!
Clicks all round, mate. Clicks all round!!!

Reminds me
of the time one of my old science teachers had an epileptic fit in the middle of a class. It took the pupils about 30 seconds to realise she wasn't breakdancing before they stopped cheering and got help.

In their defence she was one of the dance class profs as well.

hahahahaha!

I think that's about as close to the line as you can go
If you didn't have so much history here of being a thoroughly likeable and entertaining chap I imagine you'd be getting a bit of a flaming right now.

A friend of the family died as a result of a seizure (hit his head when he collapsed), so I know it's nothing to laugh about but I still couldn't help but lol at the punchline.

you get a click for making me laugh but also for the quandary of cuntishness you put me in -still cant decide 1) if you were a cunt for doing it or 2) I'm a cunt for laughing at it.
(, Sat 16 Jan 2010, 9:50, closed)
I know
a) - it's fucking about with a serious subject that affects alot of people and families
b) - PIRATES!

I actually did not go onto the Internet that time with the intention of doing this prank too, just kind of happened to search for something else and found this forum (plus I've definately not done anything as close as this again).

Oh and in answer to your question, we both are cunts, but I'm the bigger one :D
