This is a question Broken Promises

Thebigfella tugs our coat and says: Are you a LibDem minister, a cheating partner, or maybe you have an annoying friend you can't be bothered with? Tell us of promises you've broken, or if you've been on the receiving end.

"I'm not cheating on you"
"Especially not with my redhaired friend in London that I keep finding excuses for you to not meet."

"I promise I won't have to 'work' this weekend."

"I can't get signal, that's the only reason I don't call or text when I'm 'working'."

"I won't ever lie to you."

"I won't be late again."

"Those knickers that don't belong to you are only a friend's, nothing happened."

"I'm anal about my sexual health." (His words, not mine!)

"That chlamydia test must be wrong."

Yeah right.

I've made a promise to myself now - I am definitely not going to be that naive again!

"I'm anal about my sexual health."
How did he keep a straight face?

I honestly don't know.
That one still makes me giggle, despite all that happened!

"I will never hurt you like he did"

Excuse me if I don't want to test that out...

I think
he's just saying that he's got a small one.

I can't get a signal
Seriously?

Yeah
The sad thing is that, utter mug that I was (now hopefully no longer am!) believed him.

Bizarrely
This was actually true for one place I worked, for the grand total of a week. There was no mobile phone signal within the building, no internet access, and not even hot water to make tea. There was tepid water, if you liked your cuppa lukewarm.

The office? A certain unnamed department in the UK Government.

Nice to know they're saving money in some departments, at least.
Oddly enough, now I've moved to Cambridge I have really weird signal - one minute I'll have 5 bars and the next none. I can actually sit for a couple of minutes and watch it come and go. never known it to do that anywhere else in the country!
