This is a question Bullshit and Bullshitters

We've had questions about lies and liars in the past, but this time we're asking about the sort of fantasist who constantly claims they've got a helicopter in the garden or was "second onto the balcony at the Iranian Embassy siege". Tell us about the cobblers you've been told, or the complete lies you've come out with.

Thanks to dozer for the suggestion

Short one.
A while back I was chatting online to this rather cute young lady; cute, lovely and dim. SO I decided to have a bit of fun one evening. I asked her what time it was... She answered its 7.30pm or some such. I said OK well when you come up next weekend make sure you change your watch as you will miss your train. Expecting a puzzled reaction, she simply said OK.

So down in the Brighton area is a hairdresser that thinks there are time zones going north up the country... lord knows what will happen if she ever goes to Scotland.

and she be right to do so
London is on 0º and Glasgow is 04°15′W so that's about 16min out. Mind you the more north you go, time goes back in years.

technically...
if I go to the one side of my street, then down the road (E/W) then I can travel in time, but this isn't a time zone. Still its rather funny that she may think the Midlands is an hour in advance of Brighton.

Indeed.
In Bristol is the last remaining clock with two minute hands - one for London time, and one for Bristol 11 minutes earlier.

I thought Scotland did have a different time at one point?
Something to do with the war and dark nights? Also, what tine zone are Potugal and Western Spain in?
(I agree she sounds gullible but times zones are very arbitrary)

Portugal is on GMT
Same time as London.

Until the advent of train travel, all English regions had their own timezone. Bristol was 10 mins behind London, Leeds was 6 mins behind, Norwich was a few minutes ahead.

100% FACT.
