Maybe a bit specific
I like my military stuff; tanks, 'planes, ships, you name it. So it really pisses me off on the news when the reporter talks about "British Tanks" and in the background are MICVs or APCs. Makes my blood boil I tell ya.

Is a MICV like an IFV?

Yep
Or when they talk about SAM missiles, what do they think the fucking M stands for?
(, Thu 8 Apr 2010, 19:38, closed)
Which is odd as when I see talk of ICBMs
They don't bother.

EDIT: Here's a theory, the military would just say SAM but the M needs repeating in full for other people, still easier than saying the whole thing.

Ah yes
but it's being used by a smart-arsed cunt journalist in a flak jacket, 50 miles from any action, so that's part of the crime. Why do they assume that anyone who gives a fuck would sit in front of the news asking themself "What does SAM stand for?". Or, why do they think that anyone unable to work out what the M stands for will be able to work out the first 2 letters?

Erm, in fact, why aren't they talking about STAMs?

Ah fuck it, if it's that cunt John Simpson, shoot him.
