I was thinking about that earlier this week. Such a stoopid thing to say. From then on, I decided, I will go on looking in a few more places, when I've found what it is I was looking for.

Er, no, see, that IS poker. There is an element of random chance to the game. It is possible to play 'correctly' and lose to someone who was lucky.

That's why poker is such an attractive game to new players. They can often hold their own in a game despite not being able to remember whether a flush beats a straight. If every newbie got destroyed and humiliated on their first go, they wouldn't get hooked and there wouldn't be a steady supply of victims for the better players. It's to your benefit in the long term. If you can't stand losing occasionally, then go play Wii Tennis on easy setting.
