It's just "Poetic license".
Well, or similar. Since the meaning is conveyed correctly I fail to comprehend how the exact choice of words is of any consequence.
Personally, I wish more people would use phrases from the likes of "Jeeves and Wooster" and less from "Boys in the Hood" or "Corra" and "East Enders".
