I also object to 'basically'
If every episode with the new Dr Who uses the word 'basically' in a big line then I'm going to invent a time machine and start a sentence I can't think of a good finish for.

Newsbeat
There was a brief period when I'd listen to Zane Lowe when driving. I had to turn over during Newsbeat due to the frequency they would say "basically, what it means is..." to dumb-down a news story. Wound me right up.

"Basically" was by far his favourite word. He once started a sentence "Basically, what it basically is, basically..."
