This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Body modifications
Spimf mentioned excessive facial piercings, but I really don't get the whole piercings thing at all.

Even ear piercing. OK, one hole in each earlobe is fine, if only because it provides me with an extra present option for my girlfriend at birthdays and Christmas, but any more just look silly to me. And as for piercing any other part - eyebrows, nose, lips, tongue, navel - yuk!

Not to mention having metal things jammed through your bell end/clitoris (depending on gender) or other such horrific mutilations. And the recent trend for jamming jewellery in your arm (I recently found out on here that they were called dermal implants) just goes right over my head.

Then there are tattoos. Why anyone would want to suffer pain to have some logo/name/huge fucking picture of a snake or whatever permanently embedded into their skin, I have no idea. Unadorned skin looks much better to me.

I realise that many people have tattoos, piercings or even both. But it honestly leaves me completely cold.

Rant over. Sorry for lack of funnies.

Might I suggest
That a blow job from a lass with a tongue stud in would change your mind on that one

if you need bits of hardware to facillitate a decent nosh
then i'd say: FAIL

if i was looking to have bits of surgical steel clattered off my little hero (no ive never heard that either i just made it up) i'd flash my dental hygenist - which would probably earn me a quick rap with a dental tool and a firm stare.

She doesn't mess about.

and regardless of any and all protestations
all body modification or adornment is attention seeking behaviour

theres no getting away from that. even subtle or hidden stuff - its there to provoke a reaction

just saying

unless...
.. its a culture where tattoos/body-adornment are required. Then, presumably, going without would be just "attention seeking behaviour", and just "to provoke a reaction".

which is invariably to show status or prowess
in order to attract a mate

even in cases where the modification is intented to be fearsome to attackers

this is still part of attracting a mate

which is a form of display

I beg to differ.
I've had body mods and I hate being the centre of attention.

I suspect
a psychologist would have a field day analysing that statement! :-)

Well now
the current Ms K2 is a university-trained flautist! I have no complaints whatsoever about her oral technique!

so she'll only blow you side on?
and keeps putting her finger over your japs eye

sound a bit rubbish
(, Wed 21 Oct 2009, 11:49, closed)
Yeah
then she insists on bashing my cock on her leg to get the spittle out when she's done!

Tattoos can be nice,
although rare when so. I got mine to distract from a large burn area.
Think my bodies more scar tissue than fresh! There are ways of being discreet with them, but yes, the majority are foul.

I do it coz I like it
but I agree that some folks will do for the attention.

Dermal impants are a bit silly, but not as silly as those stretched earlobe things.
(, Wed 21 Oct 2009, 11:46, closed)
Oi!
Stretched ears are a thing of beauty.

I think body modifications are beautiful. Ear stretching is no different to ear peircing and very handy for leaving your keys somewhere safe.

Piercings, Etc. Another View...
I have largely the same views, however...

I have a [male] genital piercing and wouldn't be without it - I had it done to signify some key changes in my life. A lot of my friends consider it mutilation but I see it differently, and it's me that has to live with it - so no worries with different opinions there.

Clitoral piercings are very rare, the more common female genital piercing is that of the Clitoral Hood, which is much safer!

As for Tattoos, I have no ink yet myself, but do plan to get some in the future. A proportion of tattoos that I see make me wince, but equally, others fascinate me. It's been said that people should approach tattooing like writing chapters of their lives in picture form, everything should have meaning. Without that insight, it's worthless IMO :)
