This is a question I don't understand the attraction

Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Corporate speak/Local bands/Big tattoos on women/Russell Brand/ Toe Rings
I can't understand why it is that:

- the higher up the corporate food chain you are, the more you must converse in 'businessspeak'. Take a reality check, learn plain English, and appreciate that no matter how nicely you try to dress up a boiled turd, its still a boiled turd.

- international acts in small venues have their sound set to a level that you can appreciate their musical abilities, but local bands have the levels set to 'ear-bleed'. Are you yourselves deaf, or are you just trying to cover up your lack of talent?

- women get big tats in the very worst places. As a 17 year old rebel, tats on the boobs and tummy can look hot, but consider when the sag sets in in later years..... at 63, NOT sexy! Eych.

- people think Russell is funny. Methinks he is anything but. As he is a skinny, hairy git with a high-pitched voice, he should be singing Country & Western.

- chubby ugly women believe that the more toe rings they wear, the sexier and skinnier they are. Sorry, no on both counts. We just hear the clanking as you walk.

Toe Rings..(!?) haha
Agree. I do like local bands. Id rather go down to the pub and listen to a half decent selection of music than sit at home watching the X Factor

The local bands thing
I play in a local band. We have little control over how loud the idiot sound guy makes it. We know how it sounds on stage, but that has nothing to do with how loud it is or how it sounds out front.

I often wonder if they've ever actually heard music before. I was listening to the soundcheck for a band we were supporting the other night, stood next to the sound guy basically, and I couldn't hear one of the guitars. Did the sound guy do anything about it? Fuck no!

There do seem to be a lot of bad sound guys
Do you ever have a feeling ahead of time what they're going to be like?

Fair enough...
...I'll call off the hounds.

I have a fairly large tattoo on my back.
When I'm 63 I won't give a fuck. In fact I'll probably get more.

surely
when you're 63, hopefully you'll have had a full enough life not to care about the saggy tattoos etc? You'll have other things to think about than 'do I look hot naked?'

Tattoos are quite personal......
...and that's fine, I just don't want to have to view them. Like some wines, they don't age well. :)

Corporate speak
Agreed - but then you said 'take a reality check'. I'd call that corporate speak myself. No one I know says that in real life.

I could have said 'get real'...
...but that was too Gangsta ;)

Outrage!
I almost have a full sleeve now, plus several more tattoos around the rest of my body, I adore them, and every single one means something to me. When I get old I know I can never forget how amazing my life has been, and so I could never regret them. I even have all my ex-boyfriend's names on my back, plus my current boyfriends name on my arm, I bet you'd hate me :) And why don't you hate big tattoos on men, huh?

Ars est celare artem.....
Hey, I've dated a number of women who had tats - some large, some small, all meaningful. For a while, Goth girls found me irresistible for some odd reason.... one girl even had a whole HR Geiger painting on her lower back (it covered some scars). In my time I've seen some that are overly proportioned, without artistic merit, and I don't believe "'cos it looked cool" is a valid meaning. I'm not against tats or tats on women per se, just some tats on some women based on aesthetics alone.:)

I have to admit
My first couple of tattoo's were awful, done by a bad artist, But I had them redone when I found a good one. And they can look terrible if you don't find the right tattoo artist.
