Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

Living on Anglesey, I spend most of my time in Bangor...
We get the best chavs ever - i even studied them for my (half-arsed) degree.
Our chavs wear the tracksuits, float round in packs, perch a cap on the absolute back of their head at some impossible angle, fight any normal person if they look twice, the usual things these gobshites do.
But NOW, NOW!! they even walk around town with their hands down the front of their pants. I don't know if they're keeping it warm, or practising their counting skills, but you want common? Come to Bangor

You sure mate?
Last time I was over there it was full of students and hardly any chavs. Then again, that was earlier this year, pretty much at the beginning of 2008, so it might have changed since I last went over there.

Plenty of scum in North Wales
But Holyhead, would have to give Bangor a run for its money. One of the most depressing places on God's earth

Go further down
And you crash into the Chavs from Aberystwyth. They are willing to travel 3 hours to fight the Bangor chav crews.....

Holyhead?
Pah!! Since you got that bridge and a new road out, it's positively sublime in HH now!
Did actually do (read start) a dissertation in Bangor Uni on the 'social response to the chav phenomenon', and came to the conclusion that they are no brighter or less dangerous than African Hunting Dogs
They have a hierarchy (based on the angle of the baseball cap:- the higher it is, the higher up they are in the group), there's an Alpha Chav, and they are incredibly territorial - you try sitting on the benches outside Woolies on a Saturday!!

If inbred, circa 1990-93.
HLT, I agree with Bethesda. Bethesda Virgin? 12 year old girl who can run faster than her uncle. And grandfather.
But, I'll scoop the pot with...... Rhyl.
