This is a question Common

Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."

My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

What stuff do you think is common?

Absolute Rage
I had to take the missus to the Hospital for a scrape (dont know the full on medical name for it) after we lost our baby.

After the operation and the waiting around to see if she had any side effects from the anesthetic the Doc said we could go home. Soo off i went to get the car. This trip took me past the maternity ward and what did I see there? A woman trussed up to a Christmas tree with drips, heart monitors and the like just about to drop her fucking offspring sucking on a fucking cigarette. I should have punched her in her throat the fat fucking whore, I hope she got cancer.

Oh dear
The smell of sanctimony is quite nauseating... Enjoy the feeling of superiority while it lasts.

For the record, our grandmothers prolly smoked like fucking chimneys right through pregnancy and conception and birth. Yes, we had birth defects and miscarriages as we still do. Boo fucking hoo and big fucking deal.

I'm here, you're here (worse luck). The quest for virtuous perfection is ultimately pointless and rather snide - a way of demarcating the good from the bad and prolly the poor from the affluent as well.

Firstly
Wow, that was some cuntish reply.

Secondly, our grandmothers did not know what we know today. Which is that smoking while pregnant is extreamly fucking selfish, irrisponsable and dangerous. If a woman cant even give up cancer sticks for 9 months while carrying her child, she should have the right to reproduce immediatly withdrawn. Punch in the throat optional.

Umm
You sir, are a complete cunt. Show some compassion or fuck off.

Hmm...
Whilst I'm not ever going to find myself in that situation, I'm able (like the majority of people here) to appreciate how horrible that must have been.

I'm not going to say anything harsh to you, as there are several psychological conditions characterized by an inability to empathise.
You should probably think before you post something so unnecessarily unpleasant after such a sad original post though.

Someday I hope you have to go through
the pain of loosing a much wanted child.

Our grandmothers also had Smallpox, TB and a whole host of other diseases to contend with. Doesn't mean that it's ok though is it.

You sir/madam are a cunt of the highest order and I truly hope that no child has to have suffer having a cockend like you as a parent.

I'm sorry that you lost the baby.
No wonder you felt like slapping the smoking pregnant woman. It's not smugness, it's pure rage at the unfairness of it. Been there, done that, all turned out well, as I hope and believe it will for you.

Opened a can of worms here
I couldn't give a toss if people smoke. However the smoking whilst being 9 months pregnant is a bit of a selfish cunty thing to do. Its the same as getting pissed up when pregnant. I drink but if I was carrying baby I wouldn't. Shows you lack character and self discpline innit?

Exactly
I completely agree.
Those women who harm their baby while pregnant are the scum of the Earth, and should be put down.

I completely agree
My mother smoked and drank during pregnancy. When i asked her about this she was quick enough to say there is nothing wrong with either of us and it was her decision, just like being sickened by breastfeeding!
She failed to notice the slow lung development of my brother and he has since had an operation, she also fails to notice the asthma i have had since birth, so be honest i think i would've felt the same reaction. It is the most disgusting thing i can actually imagine, when sometimes is living inside of you, and using you for all of its needs. It just shows the woman has absoloutley no respect.

I am so sorry to hear you lost your baby, at least if and when you do concieve again neither of you will be so disrespectful to the child growing inside her.

So
You "completely agree" that your own mother is "scum" and should be "put down".

Charming :)
