Original PS2 bought on launch day: Died 2007 (After being lugged back and forth between the UK and The Falkland Islands a lot).
Replacement for PS2 bought in 2007: Still works fine.
Slimline PS2 bought in UK but left in Falkland Islands as other replacement for original (to save it being lugged back and forth): Still works fine.
PSP: Bought on launch day: Still works fine.
PS3: Bought 2010: Works fine so far.
Sony Ericsson K610im phone: Bought after my Phillips Savvy finally died: Still works fine.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S650 (or 700, not sure which as I don't have it to hand): Bought in 2007: No problems so far.
Sony Discman: Bought back in the mists of time: No problems other than needing new earphones occasionally after catching the wire on things.

Are you sure it's not just you?

Spookily enough I even got the k610 after my Phillips Savvy died.
Apart from my PS3 (original fat version) that died after 4 years, all the Sony stuff I've had still works perfectly.
My ES spec hi-fi units are all over 20 years old and still sound excellent.

I have a sony walkman mp3 player that's been battered repeatedly for the last five year, it still has excellent sound quality and still works and holds together despite losing what looks like most of the screws holding it together. I like sony stuff.

I have horrible luck with Sony, yet I still buy them.
