But didn't you get it for the in-built software?I had a range of Commodore products (the VIC 20 when i first came out, then C64 and +4, along with the floppy drive, plotter and dot-matrix printer).
The +4 was was, as you say, a turd. Theoretically better than a C64, but somehow managed to be so much worse.
Even having dedicated cursor keys seemed like a pain at the time.
