The Betamax in my mom's basement still works fineIt's lost the faceplates of all the buttons, but the thing still plays beautifully. We still occasionally use it to watch things like Star Wars or Monty Python.
I believe it was purchased in 1984 or thereabouts, and it's been used heavily since then.
