Creepy!
Smash Monkey asks: "what's the creepiest thing you've seen, heard or felt? What has sent shivers running up your spine and skidmarks running up your undercrackers? Tell us, we'll make it all better"

Scary Dream
Between the ages of roughly 10 and about 16 I had a nightmare that occured sometimes nightly, sometimes months (and later years) apart.
It was just a number, but when I looked at it it just got bigger and bigger. It was so huge I couldnt ever see it, but I knew it was a number. I cant honestly explain what was so terrifying about it, but i used to wake up sweating and shaking.
For years I'd have the dream, and drag my quilt to my mam and dads room to sleep on the floor.
Wierd I know, but I can still see it in my minds eye some days and it gives me shivers remembering how scared I used to get

I had something like it
I was a bit younger than you were, maybe 8 - 10.
It was a big room, maybe it was a cave. It just seemed really big, and for some reason the more I looked, the bigger it seemed.
I don't know why that would be scary, but it was. Used to wake me up screaming, maybe happened 4 or 5 times.
Even now, if I think about it, it still makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. I never understood it.

hhmm... me too - sort of
up to about age 11 i had it often, then occasionally when I was a teen just to fuck me right up.
I'd be in a big, bare room, usually my bedroom, bare floor boards, the room would get bigger, and bigger, and i'd curl up tighter in the corner, then, something like a big comedy bomb (like in the credits for "The Comic Strip presents..") would start to FILL the room - and i'd wake up proper freaking out.

I had exactly the same thing from about 5 to 12. I must be a mental though, as the object was a tiny little dwarf man who was carrying a railway sleeper. The sleeper kept getting bigger and bigger, and the little man just stayed the same size. I use to wake up drenched in sweat.
However, the worst re-occuring nightmare was something much more bizzare. It make's little to no sense, but basically consisted of me being on the set of the eighties UK quizz show 'going for gold'. I was given some twigs and a bowl of semolina and told i have 15 mins to make a harrier jump jet. What was worse was that the opposing 3 people playing the game managed to do it and as the time ran out all i had were loads of twigs with semolina dripping off them. I dreamt this probably once a month for about 3 years and it scared the shit out of me...
I would very much appreciate some b3tan psychoanalysis

you fear
your twig-like girth becoming common knowledge, and aim to last 15 minutes at least without becoming a sleeper. You feel inadequate in the presence of other men and even women. You are competitive when this is unnecessary

A similarly indescribable one
When I was very young I used to have a recurring dream that always terrified me. The odd thing was, it was a dream about a texture.
Imagine a large cloth, perhaps some kind of velvet or velour. It's bunched up in ridges and lumps. Then it's suddenly pulled tight, so it goes flat.
And that's it. For some reason, it was arse-clenchingly horrifying. I'd wake up screaming. Surprisingly, I once overheard someone describing exactly the same dream to their friends...

Similar
I used to dream of cogs and wheels and the fact that they would get sharper and sharper.
Sounded better in my head
